My dear and loving Outlaw has been on my case about bringing our Buckaroo to the dentist. He is 3 and long over due to see the dentist. I found a dentist and made the appointment.
Buckaroo does not like to have his teeth brushed properly. His idea of brushing his teeth is to suck the toothpaste off the brush and then use the mouthwash (quickly spitting it out). I was expecting him to say "no" to the dentist and be a brat. Quite the opposite; Buckaroo loved the dentist.
The dentist looked at his teeth and told him he needs to brush the back teeth a little better... or else the bats will make caves in his teeth. Her saying this was awesome. He watched Jumanji one day and freaked out when the scene with bats came on. Needless to say he does not give me hassel anymore for brushing his back teeth.
He received an award for having no cavities, a sticker, a toy from the treasure chest, and an electric toothbrush.
I am so happy I took so long finding him a pediatric dentist. I wanted his first time at the dentist to be a very positive experience.
Since I had to take Buckaroo to the dentist I decided to take Cubby to the dentist as well. He is 10 months old and has 5 little teeth.
The dentist looked at his teeth, then stuck her finger in to feel for new teeth. He didn't mind at all. He loves to bite. Thankfully his teeth look great!
Thankfully the first trip to the dentist was tear free and not a torture session. I hope the next appointment is as successful as this one.
